Intel CULV Platform for Ultraportable Notebook

Intel CULV (ultra low voltage platform) will be in the market second quarter of 2009. The systems will be priced around $699 to $899. Rumors say that upcoming HP laptop in June will be built based on Intel CULV system. Acer and Dell will come up with their owns thereafter. Laptop systems based on the new CULV will be in sizes of 11.1 to 13.3 inches. Intel hopes to divide the notebook and portable computer market into four segments : Intel Atom or Pineview, Menlow-powered MIDs, Intel CULV and traditional 12.1 inch and above laptops.
